Cotroceni Palace, the church and the monastery, reflect a history of three centuries, which interweaves political, military, diplomatic, religious and cultural elements, directly with the general evolution of the Romanian society.
For three centuries, beginning with the palace founder, Serban Cantacuzino, this has been the place where many remarkable personalities have made extremely important decisions and ruled over the Romanian destiny.

The Museum of the Romanian Peasant’s history covers almost a century of restlessness, bringing together times of international praising with moments of obstruction and anxiety related to the very situation in the country.
The Romanian Peasant's Museum, founded on the 5th of February 1990, is the expression
of long-standing museum traditions dating since as early as 1875 when, following Titu
Maiorescu's suggestions, the first textile art section was to be set up, as part of the National Antiquity Museum.
