Onbehalf of the National Organizing Committee of the 5th Congress of the Romanian Association for Endoscopic Surgery and other Interventional Techniques (ARCE), I have the great pleasure of wishing you a warm “Welcome”. We are happy to find that more than 500 Romanian and foreign participants are attending this meeting.
Throughout the years, A.R.C.E. proved to be a highly scientific and accessible associationthat allows Romanian specialists not only to learn from others, but also to share their own experience.
We consider the ARCE Congress to be a most favourable moment to discuss issues ofour specialities, matters of general interest in our daily practice, specific clinical aspects, results of clinical or experimental studies, issues regarding preparation and continuing improvement of those who work in the mimin-invasivesurgery and other interventional techniques fields. This is, practically, theonly forum where specialities such as general, pediatric and toracic surgery, ginecology, urology, anaesthesia, neurosurgery, ortopedics, O.R.L. surgery orinterventional radiology can present their specific experience and search forcommon solutions to medical problems through minim-invasive techniques.
Attendance of medium medical staff coming from different specialities is salutary, thusproving one more time that a highly effective medicine is not possible without involving all participants to the medical act.
The exhibition area where the most important medical equipment producers and pharmaceutical companies will be present offers the opportunity of getting acquainted to the newest products that allow us, clinicians, to improve the quality and security of the medical act.

National Congress of A.R.C.E., which will take place during November 11th -
